High-end Nehalem motherboard by ASUS

The forum of the German website AwardFabrik shows exclusive images of a new high-end ASUS motherboard. The ASUS P6T has an LGA1366 socket and offers support to Intel's Bloomfield processors, which are likely to be released in September.

The ASUS P6T

One of the things that immediately stands out is the presence of six DIMM slots, supporting triple-channel DDR3 memory. The 16-phase power solution around the LGA1366 socket is also remarkable. Other mentionable things are the two SAS-ports (Serial Attached SCSI) and the E-ATX format (Extended ATX) of this motherboard. If you look closely, it's possible to see four PCI-Express 2.0 connectors. The 36 PCI-Express 2.0 channels can be run in 4 x 8x mode, making it possible to combine the power of four graphics cards. Because the X58-chipset is in the way, the upper PCI-Express slot is shorter than the others, but still maintaining enough room for a full-size graphics card. This however, means that the top PCI-Express slot can only sport x8 PCI-Express 2.0 channels.

When ASUS will introduce the board is still unknown, as well as the initial price. Additional pictures can be found here
